The main purpose of the II Economic Forum of the Poznań Agglomeration is the presentation of investment offers of the region to prospective investors and the discussion on the advantages resulting from the placement of investments in the agglomeration region in prospect of Euro 2012 and realization of the region development strategy.

Baltic Sea Region Perspectives Safety and Security in the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region

The event’s
particular aim is to contribute to the preparations of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea
Region. The main speakers are Danuta Hübner, Commissioner for Regional Policy and
Alexander Stubb, Minister of Foreign Affairs in Finland and a former Member of the
European Parliament. The conference is organised by the City of Helsinki in cooperation with
the European Commission and the Council of the Baltic States.

Covenant of Mayors – How to Finance It

The Covenant encourages European cities and towns to take
active steps in climate protection by cutting carbon emissions. In the event, the implications of
the Covenant and different practical solutions for its implementation will be discussed. As
funding is a major issue, the first Conference will focus on financing. The conference is
organised by the City of Helsinki in cooperation with the European Commission, Directorate-
General for Energy and Transport. The programme will feature contributions from these
bodies as well as participating cities.
