CRAFT NET

Start date: 01/03/2007

End date:31/11/2008

Objectives:

  • encourage craft and design companies to participate in receiving students for on-the-job learning experience
  • encourage craft and design students to participate in mobility
  • create a model for preparation of students and work-place tutors
  • develop material and guidance methods for host companies for evaluation of on-the-job learning and competence tests performed during the on-the-job learning
  • develop other necessary materials and support mechanisms for on-the-job learning and competence tests

Approach:

The project sets out to identify companies in the craft and design sector that are willing to start a long-term partnership with the CRAFT NET institutions. The aim of this project is to create a network of suitable SME’s in the target countries that will be capable of providing students with high quality on-the-job learning experiences as well as evaluating the competence test as a part of the on-the-job learning thus eliminating an obstacle to European mobility.

The partnership will explore e.g. the roles of the sending and intermediary organisations, selection criteria and processesas well as the need for cultural and workplace specific preparation. Materials for preparation and evaluation will be produced during the project.

Expected results:

A model for mobility for the craft sector combining on-the-job learning and individual competence tests. Materials for preparation, support during the experience as well as for evaluation.
