Final Conference

The final conference took place on September 30, 2008. The conference was staged at the Hotel Chatelain in Brussels . Prior to the conference, a list of invitees had been put together by the consortium and the projects in close collaboration with (and with the approval of) the Commission, and in total nearly 500 invitations were sent out. A total of 150 participants attended the conference.

In order to present the outcomes of 12 complex and ambitious development projects, the presentations were organised in the shape of four panels, namely.

  • recognition
  • involvement of enterprises (in particular SMEs)
  • quality in mobility
  • support structures.

For each of these panels, there was invited an outside panel guest to provide a counterpoint to the presentations of the projects: Ms. Isabelle Le Mouillour from Cedefop for the recognition panel, Mr. Thomas Meyer from the company Hencke und Meyer for the SME panel, and Mr. Svend Rechnagel (representing the Danish PIU-programme for individual apprentice mobility) for the panel on support structures. For the panel of quality, this role was assured by Dr. Søren Kristensen from the consortium. The panels consisted in a short presentation by the panel guest on the theme, followed by equally short presentations from the projects.

During the conference, simultaneous interpretation was offered in EN, DE and FR.
